Benefits of Ground Heat Pumps
Lower Energy Bills
Minimal Maintenance
More Efficient Form Of Fuel
Ground source heat pumps are also an efficient renewable alternative to gas heating systems.
Ground source heat pumps work in exactly the same way as air source heat pumps, except they extract the heat from the ground. The closed looped system provides continuous warmth all year round!
Ground source heat pumps will save you money on your energy bills, reduce your carbon footprint and require very little maintenance. As well as ground source heat pumps we also install air source heat pumps.

How Do Heat Pumps Work?
A ground source heat pump uses natural solar energy to warm up fluid that is stored in the pipes underground. The heat is then passed to a refrigerant which is compressed to further raise the temperature. This heat is then used to heat radiators, hot water and underfloor heating system.

Ground source heat pumps are slightly more effective than air source heat pumps. Both will provide huge savings on your energy bills, whilst heating your whole property.
Is Ground Source Right For Your Home?
Answer these simple questions to see if a ground source heat pump is right for you.
-
How efficient are air source heat pumps?Air source heat pumps are very efficient, transferring around 3 times more energy as heat into your home than what is used to extract from the outside. Cost savings depends on how well insulated your home is, but on average, you can save around £500 per year compared to a gas boiler. You may be entitled to receive government funding for the upfront costs through the Boiler Upgrade scheme. Find out more about the scheme here.
-
Do air source heat pumps work in winter?Yes absolutely! Even in the classic cold British weather, heat pumps are twice as efficient as regular boilers in heating your home.
-
Where do you put the heat pump? You’ll need a place outside your home where a unit can be fitted to a wall or placed on the ground. It will need plenty of space around it to get a good flow of air. A sunny wall is ideal. Our team will review the area and give you an expert opinion before you make any decisions.
-
How noisy are air source heat pumps?Air source heat pumps are usually quieter than regular boilers. Because they are placed outside, it’s unlikely you’ll be disturbed by them.
-
What type of heating system will you use?Air source heat pumps can perform better with underfloor heating systems or warm air heating than with radiator-based systems because of the lower water temperatures required.
